From a schoolboy to the “Voice Of Namma Ooru” – The inspiring journey of Bhuvaneshwarana from Karaikudi!

Bhuvaneshwarana, hailing from the village of Pudhuvayal near Karaikudi, discovered his passion for voice mimicry during his school days. Inspired by the show "Kalakka Povathu Yaaru," he began experimenting with different voices. In 2017, he bought his first smartphone and trained to sound like a pro - mastering 40 distinct voices in just two minutes, which he showcased on YouTube to great acclaim. But he didn't stop there: he also ventured into short film production. What began as a hobby became a phenomenon by 2023 - Bhuvaneshwaran's voice was suddenly being heard across all of Karaikudi!
His big break came with the TV show "Happy Street," where he got the chance to showcase his vocal talents. Impersonating popular actor Vijay Sethupathi, he won over the audience - a friend uploaded the performance on Instagram, and the likes and views came pouring in. Motivated by this success, Bhuvaneshwaran launched his own Instagram channel. His first video focused on the sacred "Kotilingam" of Shiva, for which he conducted extensive research. His informative and entertaining reels quickly surpassed 100,000 views.
Under the name "Voice Of Namma Ooru" ("Voice of Our Town"), he created a brand celebrating Karaikudi's cultural heritage. With his signature greeting "Vanakkam Karaikudi Makkale!" ("Hello, people of Karaikudi!"), he presents the region's temples, palaces and culinary treasures in catchy one-minute videos. His series "Karaikudi Series" (about historic houses and local cuisine) and "Chettinadu & 76 Villages" have thrilled thousands of viewers. Behind his success stands his sister Azhagu Alli Rani, who actively supports him: "Thanks to her, I gained my first 10,000 followers," he reveals proudly.
Bhuvaneshwaran works in Madurai but uses every free moment to collect hidden stories from his hometown Karaikudi. "I want to preserve this knowledge for future generations," he says. His Instagram channel will soon reach 50,000 followers - but for him, it's not about money, but about inspiring young people. "He uses entertainment to impart knowledge and guide youth on the right path. We're proud of that!" say his friends. His journey as the "Voice of Karaikudi" is just beginning - soon he'll amaze the world with the wonders of his homeland!
