From Doctor to Tamil Singing Sensation – Punya Selva Returns to London From stethoscope to spotlight — Punya Selva’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. We’re thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Punya Selva to this year’s Tamil Food & Music Festival on Saturday, 9th August at the beautiful Morden Hall in London. Born and raised in the UK, Punya grew up balancing music and academics — performing in local shows while pursuing a career in medicine. After becoming a doctor, she made a courageous leap: she left her medical path to follow her true passion — music. Now based in Chennai, Punya is living her dream as a professional singer, with highlights including her rise as a Super Singer Season 7 finalist, and a recent performance at OVO Wembley Arena alongside Kollywood greats. At Morden Hall, she’ll be performing live with Voice of Sugar and the incredible DrumShed collective, led by top British Tamil drummer Nish Raj. Expect bold Tamil street food, non-stop music, and a celebration of identity, courage, and community. This is more than a festival. This is our story.
