Chennai's unseen

Hey all!♥️ Hello🙏🏻

Did you know something??

Currently, the T. Nagar area in Chennai was once the location of a lake – a fact unknown to many! Yes, in the 20th century, due to the influx of people migrating to Chennai for work, the Chennai Municipal Corporation planned to expand its boundaries. Consequently, they drained the LONG TANK, a lake situated in the middle of the town, built a park there, and further developed roads around it, constructing an entire city.

During this period, Thyagaraya Chetty served as the President, so the municipal officials named the city after him.

Meanwhile, there was a small village called Mambalam, where a new railway track was laid right through its center, dividing it into West Mambalam and East Mambalam. Over time, East Mambalam merged with T. Nagar, and now only West Mambalam remains, while East Mambalam is referred to as T. Nagar.
